Josiah Haben
Co Pastor
Josiah was born to Paul and Analiese in 1995 at 21.5 weeks weighing 1 lb. 6 oz. with a 0% statistical chance of survival. With a Grade IV hemorrhage in the left ventricle of his brain Josiah’s chances of having a normal life were presented to his parents as ‘slim’ and spent the first 3-1/2 months of his life in the NICU.

Almost losing his sight as an infant on two occasions, has was also diagnosed with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (which he overcame at the age of 6) and Cerebral Palsy. He has had 10 major operations, (several prior to the age of 8) with 3 taking place in the first 3 months of his life.

Through every challenge Josiah has maintained his faith and love for God. Josiah does not fall back on his limitations; he finds purpose in them and a way to excel. Even as a baby, not being able to crawl or walk, he would scoot himself on his back throughout the house determined to experience his surroundings!
Overcoming the challenges associated with his early birth, Josiah has excelled in literature, writing, speech, debate and music. As early as the age of 5 Josiah has won local, national and international awards for Literature and Musicianship as well as The Luis Armstrong Jazz Award at SVHS.

Exceling at playing the piano and organ only using the first 3 fingers on each hand, he has served as Organist/Music Director at Place For Life Church in San Antonio since 2017. Josiah is following his calling to ministry attending Liberty University, Dallas Baptist University and is currently in his final year of Biblical Studies/Pastoral Leadership at Valor Christian College.

Josiah is determined to find purpose in his challenges, imparting hope to others, that through Jesus, their dreams and goals are never out of reach as long as they Live Life on Purpose and Never Quit!
